Seatle

My beautiful sister Bibi with her family.
They went to Seatle for a weekend getaway and had the best time. To battle the cold (that we aren't that used to) they bundled up with layers, lots and lots of layers. Bibi was one of the lucky few that got to stock up on Missoni for Target the day it launched. For herself she found more than a few items. But the lucky girl was my niece, how pretty much has the whole Missoni line, so on this particular weekend they both managed to stay warm looking fabulous in colors, prints and stripes. Here are a few pics.

Black Rose

A not so basic black top that was hanging in my mom's closet and I couldn't resist "borrowing" it for a day. Can you blame me? The ruffles and flower on it make it irresistible.

Valentine's Mood

Today was the best Valentine's Day ever. It actually all started yesterday evening. I arrived home from work to catch my sister Susy baking cookies for her man. The cookie dough smell was delicious. My dad showed up with Marie Callender's for everyone. One pie for each to be exact. So you can imagine the madness that was our fridge, we have Banana Cream. Double Cream Blueberry, Chocolate Satin, German Chocolate, French Apple & Double Cream Lemon. Yes I'm serious, six whole pies (you can see pictures of the pie madness through twitter @4sisters4styles).

Today was also very special, we all woke up in a great cheerful mood. Susy preparing her Valentine's surprise, I was excited about giving Jorgy his present, everyone was in a lovely mood. I arrived to the restaurant and this is the first thing I ran into...

The most beautiful flowers I'd ever laid my eyes on. Three dozen roses, tulips and other beautiful flowers (no I can't name them, sorry). Later in the evening Jorgy went to the restaurant because I was working, the nice thing about working at a restaurant is that I got my Valentine's dinner date without having to miss work (that's me trying to convince myself that it's o.k. that I had to work on Valentines). So he got to open his gift:

Sunglasses because he's lost three in the past year, and a nautical striped sweater, I can totally see him with boat shoes, white jeans and this sweater. Yes, I'm desperately waiting for the warm spring/summer months to arrive.

As for the outfit I wore my favorite shoes, my Vera Wang Thigh High Boots, with another H&M Divided dress, same color as the other one I've been wearing a lot lately, but with the most beautiful lace detail on top. Of course I needed my layers because it was a cold night, so after watching all the NYFW post from every single blogger, I couldn't resist the all leather looked and completed the outfit with a leather bomber jacket from Theory, once again stolen from Vicky's closet.

I apologize for my turtle pose, but it's the only pic I have of the jacket.
I'm very grateful for all the blessings I have, being able to wake up to a house filled with love and warmth. Having the opportunity to share the Valentine's spirit with my parents, my siblings, my Jorgy and my friends is for me what made this Valentine's the best one ever. Sharing this post with you makes me happy. If you have the time please share your amazing Valentine's story in the comments below.

Long Wavy Hair

Beautiful Vicky, with her beautiful hair! She's finally warming up to the idea of having her picture taken for this blog. This picture was taken last Thursday; she was having a terrific "I don't need a comb, my hair is fabulous" day. Seriously, no blow dryer, no curling iron, nothing. At all.

Tired..

I'd like to start this post off by apologizing for the lack of creativity in this outfit post, the thing is it's 1:35 AM and I'm at the restaurant, truth is I'm more than a little tired (you can probably tell by the huge dark circles around my eyes) but I could not let the day go by without taking a pic of today's look and uploading it to the blog. Mainly because I'm in love with this blouse from Forever 21 (Vicky was kind enough to let me borrow it for the day).
Today was a long (productive and fun) day, I was up and about all day and just now had a moment to sit down and rest. Probably a mistake because all of a sudden my feet are killing me and I'm falling asleep. The nice thing about working at a restaurant is all the delicious treats available. I decided right now is the perfect time to take a 15 min. break, I get to enjoy a delicious cup of Vanilla Apricot Tea, turn on my Vanilla candle and just relax (or blog).

Sweet tooth

Earlier this week my friends and I got together at Denisse's house, because she organized our monthly get together, and of course our amazing friend went all out with the pastries (she bakes the most delicious desserts) and Valentine's decorations. She's a natural born hostess. We were all treated to creme brulee's, parflait's, macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries, wine and other delicious treats. Because we all have many things going on in our lives we make an effort to get together at least once a month.
I really enjoyed their company and catching up with all my girls.

After the storm...

Yesterday was a gloomy rainy day, today a beautiful sunny day. Truth be told I enjoy rainy days because we only have them every once in a while, so yesterdays rain was welcome. This morning I woke up to sunshine and chirping birds outside my window. It felt like spring, so I dressed like spring...
The L.A.M.B. purse was a Christmas gift from Jorgy, and I absolutely love it. The jeans (Gap 1969) and coral earrings (Macy's) I borrowed from my sister Vicky. The spring flower blouse is from Forever 21. I'm carrying a coral scarf (from express) and yellow sweater around in case it gets cooler later this afternoon.

Coffee makes the world go round...

I love my job, but on Monday's I sometimes still get the "I don't want to go to work" feeling I used to get about school. Yesterday was one of those Monday's. It didn't help much that I closed on Sunday, I woke up in the morning tired, wishing I could catch a couple extra hours of sleep. Because of this I decided it was definitively o.k. to make today a "I can wear leggings to work" day, to keep things simple I went for head to toe black, with my suede boots, fleece lined leggings, turtleneck and gold studded sweater, added a little color with a scarf and I was out the door, ready (and comfy) to start the day.
I left work early and had lunch with my family. After that Vicky and I had a coffee shop exploring day. She's reading "The Help" and I wanted to catch up on my favorite blogs. She wanted the coffee shop experience without having to go to Starbucks. I'd heard of a new place from Jorgy (he's addicted to coffee and knows all the coffee places in town), so we decided to go there. Dinastia 12 is beautiful, truth be told I didn't try the coffee I went for a white orchid tea that I enjoyed very much. Vicky say's the coffee was delicious. The only problem was they had a glitch with there wi-fi, so no blogging for me.
Vicky's been looking adorable lately rocking Coral lips, and a kick ass wardrobe. She started working at a J. Crew Factory Store last November and her wardrobe has increased considerably. I'd love to add more Vicky posts but she isn't cooperating that much. She fell in love with Dinastia 12, she says it's going to be her after school/before work "hide out".
Later in the day Jorgy joined up with us, he also wanted coffee, but he needed the internet to send some work emails so the three of us went to another coffee shop: Sospeso. I had a Chemex coffee, which after a pretty long explanation from the barista I still don't quite understand how or why it's different from regular coffee. It was very good coffee but I was a little scared to add sugar, cream or milk to it because I swear I would have offended the intense barista that was nice enough to give me a 10 minute explanation of why their coffee is the best (which is probably true).
When I was in college I used to drink coffee, after coffee, after coffee. It was my fuel, without coffee I would not function. By 9AM I usually would've drunk my huge thermos and a Starbucks Venti. I'm serious, because I woke up at 5:30AM I was kind of lazy about my coffee, no cream, no sugar, just black coffee. I remember being all edgy every once in a while. There came a moment when I said: Enough is enough. I remember I'd get headaches if I didn't have any coffee so it had to be a gradual "enough". Five years later and I now drink my coffee with tons of milk, cream, sugar, whatever I can find to mask the coffee flavor I used to love. A part of me wishes I could still enjoy a cup of 100% coffee, even more after yesterday, especially considering the many marvelous coffee shops in Tijuana. If you take your coffee seriously you'll love these places.

Once again, DIVIDED...

Who says you can't dress up on game day?
As you an see, I am once again wearing my H&M Divided cobalt blue dress. This time I went for the layered look. Wore my super high yet super comfy "Diba" booties (Christmas gift from grandma), with a pair of patterned tights from the Gap (from a long time ago), my favorite animal print scarf from last year (Forever 21) and a sweater I stole from my mom (sorry mom). I got to watch the game in style.
My Super Bowl Sunday tradition used to be buy a whole lot of junk food and watch the game in my pj's with my mom wishing the Chargers were playing. This year was different though, because I had to work. The good news is I got to watch the game.
And oh what a game, definitely a nail-biter! Personally I don't like either quarterback but I still enjoyed the game very very much. My sister Susy, and a few of her friends decided to watch the game at Margaritas Village, which worked out perfect for me because even though I was working I got to watch the game and enjoy my sister's victory; she's a huge Eli Manning fan, AND she won a bet with her boyfriend (she gets a brand new watch).
Of course, it's not Super Bowl Sunday without a variety of sinfully delicious food. This is probably my favorite part of the day (it beats out choosing my favorite commercial and half time, by far). Today's favorites where these shrimp stuffed chiles (and beer, of course). We sold a lot of these babies, they are near the top of my list as favorite, if your ever in Tijuana you have to stop by and try them and you'll understand why.
